Relevant experience where I also cared for children were...
I have a 26 year old older sister, with 4 kids—Ages 6, 4, 2 and 1. While she was off working as a RN I offered to watch them for free as I enjoyed being around kids. I worked over the summer from 8AM to 6PM a few times a week.
I also have two younger siblings, Currently 12 and 10. But growing up ever since i was 9 i’d watch them for short periods of time. Now that i’m a little older I’ve watched them for a few weekends while my mother is out of town.

I think the most important part about being a nanny is making sure the child feels safe, cared for, and happy. It’s not just about watching them, but really paying attention to their needs; whether that’s keeping them entertained, helping with their routines, or just being a calm and supportive presence. Kids remember how you make them feel, so I always try to be kind, patient, and someone they can trust.
