I love spending time outdoors with children. Going to city park and eating lunch outdoors. Teaching them about different plants and animals while walking in the zoo.
The most important part about being a nanny...
Children always need someone present. Whether it be at school events, after school activities, or just normal home life. I became a nanny because I had two working parents growing up. They did everything to support me and I love them for that, but everyday I would come home to an empty house for hours on end. It was lonely. Children need attention and I want to help take some of that responsibility off of your shoulders.
My experience with special needs children...
I have 2 years of experience with special needs children. I would also help assist SPED teachers though-out my teaching career.
The most important part about being a nanny...
I worked with an 11 year old boy who was selective non-verbal. I was with the family for a year before they moved, and on my last day the boy hugged me crying asking me to come with them. I was patient and caring towards him but sometimes it was hard to tell if I really made any impact with him. That day reassured me that all the hard work, love, and care I put into him really made a difference in his life. I will never forget that feeling.
