A little bit about me

Hi! My name is Hailey-Jade, I am a college student at Washington State University in Pullman. I am 19 years old, so currently a sophomore and am double majoring in Psychology and Criminal Justice. I have two years of paid experience as a babysitter and am working on my first aid and cpr certification to sweeten the deal! I grew up with 4 siblings, and as the second oldest, the responsibility of babysitting often fell on me, siblings were from the ages of 8-15. My junior year of highschool is when I got my first hourly paid job as a flexible babysitter for a 3 year old boy and 5 year old girl. This job lasted until I moved for college. I also tutored freshman, sophomore and juniors in math during my junior and senior years of highschool. I am now in search of a full time job as a summer nanny, as I come back home from college. My goal is to foster a safe and active environment for children of all ages and accessibilities. I don't mind a bit of cleaning and cooking either :)

As a camp counselor for Chief Umtuch Middle School with Cispus Campgrounds for two years. I worked with children in 6th grade, so ages 11-12, I was responsible for their meal schedules, medications, activity schedules, bathing schedules, as well as ensuring they're safety and comfortability in an unfamiliar place.

My favorite indoor activities are reading, coloring, building blocks, hide and seek, and movie nights.
My favorite outdoor activities are scavenger hunts, going on walks, going to the park, playing tag, or the pool if it's hot.

The most important part about being a nanny...

The most important part about being a nanny, to me, is ensuring that the child feels safe with me. I want to learn what the child likes to do and what they hate. If a child trusts me, I am much more capable of making the rest of the experiences even more enriching. I think it's important to always strive as a nanny to teach, but also to learn as well.
