A little bit about me

I am a very outgoing and a people person. I
I was a baby sitter while in school for 3 years during the summer. I am a member of Broadway Baptist Church and help in the nursery with children 0-5 years. I was a dental hygienist for 12 years but had a terrible car accident in 2000 that changed my life. I hit two horses in the middle of the road at night. I was airlifted due to injuries. One was a broken wrist on my right hand. This was my "working hand" when cleaning teeth. My whole world changed. I couldn't continue my career due to wrist and a bad head injury, so memory was gone for 3-4 months. It defined who I was and that's why I am sharing my story. I was now called "the miracle child" The Lord was right beside me. But, it showed me who I was and just how strong I was.
I received a certification online as a Medical Administrative Assistant. I have been a caregiver for elders for 1 1/2 years now. I would love to be your nanny if you decide to choose me!!

Relevant experience where I also cared for children were...

I was a baby sitter when I was young in the summer months. I work in the nursery at my church as well.

Activities I enjoy doing with children...

I love to play little games outside with children if possible. My reason being that so many children now days are glued to some sort of game console or playing on a phone. As a child, I stayed outside as much as possible. I feel the sitting and playing games is really an unhealthy lifestyle for children. But, if for some reason the child can't or can't due to another circumstance, we will find activities to do inside. I love working with children on school work, becoming a good influence on continuing education. I also love to influence kids in a healthy diet. So, I'm pretty flexible on having activities suitable for the child.

The most important part about being a nanny...

It excited me that I get the opportunity to assist children with anything I can. That's from schoolwork to playing a game.

My experience with special needs children...

I was in charge of a house with three females at The Arc. Disabilities, mental illness, and health issues were all included with my three ladies. Everyone was always taken care of and prepared two meals a day for them. I had responsibilities of getting them to appointments, leisure activities and to The Arc for daily learning. I loved it.

The most important part about being a nanny...

I do not have children and can't due to my wreck. I never changed poopy diapers until I worked with the elder. No idea that I would have to assist them. My first day
a female told me she had to go to the bathroom. You could barely understand Mrs. Louise. So, I said for her to go ahead. Well, she continued to tell me I needed to come with her. She pooped and got up and bent over for me to wipe her. I tried to die. But I put on my gloves and continued to clean her up and put a clean diaper on her. That was it... she broke me I thought
Well, in nursery one morning a child had a dirty diaper. I took her to the changing table. I got her diaper changed and cleaned up. About five minutes late, she was dirty again. So back to the changing table. While changing her, she used the bathroom all on my hand. I started gagging and thankfully my mom was in there with me and took over. I will never forget it.
