I love listening to music and singing along to silly kid and toddler songs when I am with very young children! Reading books together is a must! I also enjoy arts and crafts , playing at playgrounds and going on walks! Adventures such as the zoo are always fun too!
The most important part about being a nanny...
The most important part of being a nanny (besides keeping the child safe and well) is forming a friendship with the child. letting them know that they can trust me , and have a fun time with me. I want the child to be excited to see me on the days I work, not just see me as some random person driving them around and caring for them.
My experience with special needs children...
The current family I nanny for in the afternoons has a young boy who has moebius syndrome. Moebius syndrome makes it harder for him to chew up and swallow his food properly. It also makes it a bit harder for him to write when doing homework. On top of those things, he gets teased at school often and sometimes gets very upset and needs extra comforting.
The most important part about being a nanny...
My all time favorite nanny moments with every child I have ever worked with is getting my first real hug from the child, and when the child thanks me for being their nanny or says they love me like a family member. Those moments always make me so happy!
