Relevant experience where I also cared for children includes babysitting a 1-year-old baby girl regularly for about a year, which taught me a lot about patience, safety, and keeping a good routine. I also help take care of my little sister and lots of younger cousins, so I’m used to being around kids of all ages. I sometimes help out in kids church at my local church, and I really love being there with all the kids. I honestly surround myself with kids as much as I can — it’s something I genuinely enjoy and feel comfortable with.

Activities I enjoy doing with children include reading books together, playing games (both inside and outside), singing songs, doing arts and crafts, and using our imagination for creative play. I also love making up little skits or silly stories with them, especially since I’m into theater. Whether it’s helping with homework or just being silly and having fun, I like keeping kids engaged, happy, and safe.

The most important part about being a nanny is making the child feel safe, loved, and understood. It’s not just about watching them — it’s about being someone they trust, look up to, and feel happy around.

My experience with special needs children...

I haven’t had formal experience working with special needs children, but I’ve always naturally connected with them. At school, many of the special needs students are drawn to me, and I love talking to them, playing with them, and just being someone they feel comfortable around. I also have a cousin with special needs, so I understand that they may need more attention and patience than the average child — and I know I can manage that. I’m always willing to listen, learn, and do whatever I can to make every child feel safe, included, and cared for.

The most important part about being a nanny...

My favorite nanny moment was when I got invited to the second birthday party of a little girl I babysit. I was nervous to go because I didn’t really know anyone there except her mom, but the second she saw me, she ran over in her bathing suit and gave me the biggest hug — even though she got me completely soaked! That moment made me feel so special and appreciated. Her whole family was just as sweet and welcoming as she is, and it reminded me why I love caring for kids so much.
