The most important part of being a nanny is to build trust with all members of the family. That involves not only doing what is expected of you, but going beyond and showing your love for the family and respect for them.
My experience with special needs children...
I have two cousins with Autism that I have cared for before. Although it is challenging I absolutely love it and it is very rewarding to see them thrive. I also am getting involved in the NEST program at AU, where I will be forming friendships with special needs students.
