I have the traditional “babysitting” experience that most young people have. I’ve also helped assist multiple childrens camps for a variety of ages. For the past seven months I have been an assistant teacher in the infant rooms (6 weeks-18 months) at a Montessori daycare/preschool. I also have a little experience working in the toddler rooms as well.
Activities I enjoy doing with children...
Working in a Montessori environment has given me unique perspective on activities to help with child development. Specifically, I love working with children on their gross motor skills which can be done indoors and outdoors. I’ve found that children seem to love outdoor time so I think it’s important to get at least a little time outside every day!
