More About Me

Relevant experience where I also cared for children were...

I have been babysitting for family members since I was 13. I started professionally babysitting non family members around 3 years ago. I have done daycare/preschool type childcare out of my home where I have cared for up to 4 children at once ranging from 8 months to 4 years old. I have also done after school childcare for a kindergartner.

Activities I enjoy doing with children...

I love teaching children age appropriate life skills such as communicating through big emotions, cleaning, and cooking. I love doing arts and crafts and imaginative play.

My experience with special needs children...

My three year old son is autistic and so is another toddler I regularly babysit. My son was nonverbal until he was two years old. We have worked with medical professionals including but not limited to speech therapist and play therapist. He is now speaking and social to an extent. The autistic child I babysit is also three and still non verbal. We work on alternative ways to communicate such as picture boards and sign language as well as regulating emotions. We work through meltdowns and find coping mechanisms that work for each child.
