A little bit about me

My name is Harmony Young, an 18-year-old Health Science major at Coastal Carolina University with a goal of becoming a Physician Assistant in the NICU. I have a passion for caring for others, especially children, which makes me a great fit for babysitting or child care roles.

As a cheerleader, I’ve taught tumble classes, coached prep cheer teams, and gained leadership skills while working with kids of all ages. I’ve also worked at a summer camp, where I provided care in various settings and developed strong communication and organizational abilities.

I am CPR and First Aid certified, hold nursing credentials, and completed a Health Department internship in Mocksville, gaining hands-on experience in health care.

Known for being caring and responsible, I can help with homework, meals, cleaning, and even pet care. I’m committed to creating a safe, nurturing environment for children and would love the opportunity to support your family!

More About Me

Relevant experience where I also cared for children were...

As a summer camp counselor, I organized art activities, led games, and coordinated themed weeks like Water Week to ensure campers had an unforgettable experience. I also curated daily movies for nap times, creating a balanced routine that combined active play with restful periods. These experiences allowed me to develop essential skills in organization, leadership, and child engagement, fostering a supportive and fun-filled environment where children could learn, grow, and make lasting memories.

Activities I enjoy doing with children...

I love engaging in activities that kids enjoy and help them have fun while learning and growing. Working on projects together, like arts and crafts or building something creative, is always a highlight. It’s rewarding to see their imaginations come to life. Playing any games they choose is another favorite of mine—whether it’s a board game, a card game, or something active outside. I enjoy letting them take the lead and have fun in a way that suits their energy and interests.

The most important part about being a nanny...

Being a nanny encompasses several key responsibilities that contribute to a child's well-being and development. Foremost is ensuring safety; a nanny must create a secure environment, diligently childproofing spaces and supervising activities to prevent accidents. Equally important is fostering a loving atmosphere where children feel valued and supported, promoting their emotional growth. Trustworthiness is essential, as parents rely on nannies to provide dependable care, offering parents peace of mind and necessary respite. Moreover, a nanny should infuse fun into daily routines, engaging children in enjoyable and educational activities that make their time together delightful. Ultimately, a successful nanny is someone children look forward to being around, forming positive, lasting relationships that enrich their lives.

My experience with special needs children...

Throughout my education, from elementary to high school, I have actively engaged with individuals with special needs. My involvement includes volunteering with the Special Olympics, where I supported athletes in various events, fostering inclusivity and promoting their athletic achievements.

Additionally, I participated in reading programs, dedicating time to read to individuals with special needs. This experience enhanced their literacy skills and provided meaningful social interaction.

These experiences have deepened my understanding of the unique challenges faced by individuals with special needs and reinforced my commitment to advocating for and supporting this community.

The most important part about being a nanny...

One of my favorite nanny moments was when the kids I worked with at summer camp went home and told their mom how much they loved having me as their camp leader. Hearing how much they enjoyed the activities, games, and time we spent together truly warmed my heart. It meant so much to know that I made a positive impact on their summer experience and left them with happy memories. Moments like these remind me why I love working with kids and how rewarding it is to create fun, meaningful connections with them.
