Throughout the years, I’ve taken on the role of the family’s daycare teacher/ babysitter, regularly caring for younger children. I’ve helped manage my niece over the summer and supported her academic growth by engaging her in educational activities, which helped her advance to the next grade level and eventually skip a grade. I’ve always made it a priority to ensure the children were happy, engaged, and supported. This included taking them to the park, planning activities around the house, and creating a safe, active environment that encouraged learning and development.

My experience with special needs children includes growing up with my 22-year-old sister, who has autism. Through this, I’ve learned over the years that every child is different and requires individualized support. Additionally, through my summer camp job, I’ve worked closely with children with various disabilities, gaining insight into how they navigate daily activities. I’ve helped meet their needs and found creative ways to ensure they feel included and supported.
