A little bit about me

Hello! My name is Hayley and I will be staying in Blue River for the summer of 2023. I am a nursing student and Swim Team coach in Oshkosh, Wi. I have experience teaching and caregiving for infants to adults. I have an 8 year old son, Jack. In our house we take curiosity very seriously and we like to listen to STEM podcasts, write comic books and learn through play. I have taken courses on cognitive behavioral therapy and dialectical behavioral therapy. We practice these skills that we have learned through these courses to help identify emotions and how to deal with them in a healthy way. I believe that every child is unique and that there is no one size fits all when it comes for caring for them. I look forward to meeting you and your family!

The most important part about being a nanny...

I had a client who had a difficult time expressing emotions appropriately. making and maintaining friends was also a challenge for them. we worked on identifying emotions, communicating them and setting healthy boundaries through social stories. They made a friend that summer and eventually joined their local Boy Scouts! This boy put in hard work and inspired me to work towards becoming a mental health nurse.
