More About Me
Relevant experience where I also cared for children were...
I have competed for Miss Iowa the past two years which has meant spent hundreds of hours volunteering in schools promoting my platform. I have also worked in various daycares totaling over three years in addition to babysitting and nannying for other families.
Activities I enjoy doing with children...
I love love love to spend time outdoors whether it's kicking a soccer ball around or going for a walk or just sitting on the porch. As an art major, I really enjoy craft projects. I love to find ways to engage children in daily necessities like cooking and cleaning and make it fun for them. I'm always down to sit and read books for a couple hours too!
The most important part about being a nanny...
The most important part of being a nanny ensuring that the children feel loved and and safe at all times. I demonstrate this by being patient and providing structure through activities they will enjoy and also benefit from!
My experience with special needs children...
I have worked in special education classrooms for two school years. My specialty is autism as I have an older brother who is autistic and both the children I worked with had autism. They taught me a lot of patience and how to get creative in my ways of teaching!
The most important part about being a nanny...
This is the single most impossible section to fill out- so I'll do a couple.
One of the mothers of one of the little boys I used to watch called me and said they were thinking about coming to an Iowa football game. And her son (who always had to act the biggest tough guy) "Aw yes, we can go see Miss Hayley, I miss her so much!" and it just made my heart swell. I hadn't seen him for like a year, but he remembered where I went to school. Love that kid with my whole entire heart.
The other is much less specific. Working in special education classrooms, I saw a lot of really hard things. I saw children coming from homes ridden with drugs or abuse. I experienced frustration with children who were destructive to themselves and others because they were hurting. When these kids had breakthroughs, I found myself in tears. When they finally mastered counting to five or identifying colors, I often found myself in tears. I knew that I was making a difference and that made it all worth it.

Full-Time Nanny Available in Iowa City, IA: Nicole B.
I began working as a Mother's Helper when I was 10 years old and then a babysitter once I turned 12. I have babysat for 15+ families with kids as young as 2 months old through 11 years old. I have worked as a full-time nanny the past three summers back at home for a family, but now I want to stay in Iowa City for the summer and am seeking a summer job here.
I am in my Junior year at the University of Iowa. I am a nursing student and CPR certified. While away at school, I babysit for 4 different families in the Iowa City area. I took last Fall semester off (because the nursing program did not start until the spring semester) and I worked as a full-time nanny for a family with four kids ranging from ages 2-11 years old. The 3 oldest kids were in school most of the day, so it was mostly just me and the 2-year-old. We spent our days out and about at local parks, Story Time at the library, going for walks and Tot Time. I love to play with kids and am a very interactive babysitter!
