Being patient and understanding. Many kids often learn at different rates and in different ways, so being able to be flexible, patient, and encouraging through their learning processes will create a better experience for the child and yourself.

I have a younger brother who is autistic, and I have worked with a boy who had Downs Syndrome.
The most important part about being a nanny...
I had three kids that I took to gymnastics most days after school. My favorite moments with them would be when they would try to teach me their gymnastics moves! I was really bad at it, but they were so excited to teach me and so sweet about it! I like being able to teach kids, but I think it is even more special when they are able to teach me and we can build a relationship through it!
