Hi! I’m a creative, nurturing, and experienced caregiver who loves helping children learn, explore, and grow! I’ve called the Knoxville area home for the past 20 years and being a mom has been one of my greatest joys as I created a supportive environment where safety, love, and independence were woven together.

I received a college degree in Humanities with a focus on education and art, and have a diverse background in childcare. I also had the privilege of both homeschooling my children and assisting in their classrooms when they attended public school, giving me a well-rounded understanding of children’s educational and developmental needs. I also have experience teaching and caring for children with special needs like food allergies and autism.

More About Me

Relevant experience where I also cared for children were...

I have served as a day camp assistant director, summer camp craft shop employee, tutored at Sylvan Learning Center, assisted in both general and special ed elementary classrooms and homeschooled my own two children during middle and highschool. I have also served as a summer nanny. I received a degree in Humanities with a focus on education and art.
I am comfortable working with both neuro typical and special needs children.

Activities I enjoy doing with children...

I love following children's lead and using the activities they are interesting to expand their knowledge. Facilitating kids' interests and nurturing autonomy within bounds while encouraging calculated risk taking are beliefs I hold strongly. I enjoy helping children learn about nature and the world around them.

My experience with special needs children...

As mom to a child diagnosed with level 1-2 autism, I have spent 16 years aiding, arranging for and transporting them to multiple therapies, and have been trained in Parent-Child Interaction Therapy and ABA for our own family's needs. I also have a child with severe food allergies.

I'd love to apply this knowledge and experience to help you care for your child. I have both home educated my kids as well as dealt with arranging/IEPs and 504s in my children's school classrooms. I believe in developmentally appropriate discipline.
