Activities I enjoy doing with children...
I love filling our days with joyful, hands-on fun that sparks learning through play and brings out the biggest smiles!
On nanny and babysitting adventures, we’ve bounced with nonstop laughter at the jump park, explored hands-on wonders and pretend play at the Creative Discovery Museum, splashed and floated with noodles during sunny pool days, and turned backyards into magical sidewalk-chalk courses or giant bubble-blowing fun.
In the daycare classroom, we’ve had the sweetest times exploring sensory bins with rice, kinetic sand, and water pouring; singing silly songs like “5 Little Monkeys” during circle time with puppet shows; getting delightfully messy with finger painting and playdough; creating nature crafts like leaf rubbings and playground bug hunts; and turning rainy days into giggles with balloon volleyball or indoor obstacle courses.

The most important part about being a nanny...
In my experience, the most important part of being a nanny is building a genuine, trusting bond with the children, while maintaining open, honest communication with the parents and being consistently reliable. That connection with the kids creates safety and emotional security, allowing them to open up, thrive, and share their true personalities in joyful ways. Open communication with parents, sharing daily updates, discussing challenges or preferences transparently, and addressing concerns right away, keeps everyone aligned and supported. Reliability ties it all together: showing up on time, following through on routines, and providing steady, dependable care even on tough days, so families have complete peace of mind. Together, these elements create a harmonious, loving environment where children feel secure and parents feel confident.
My experience with special needs children...
I have very minimal experience working directly with children who have special needs or diagnosed conditions, but I do have meaningful experience supporting children who struggle with big feelings, challenging behaviors, and emotional regulation. Over the years of babysitting, nannying, and working in daycare, I’ve helped many little ones navigate tantrums, frustration, transitions, sharing difficulties, or moments when emotions feel overwhelming. I approach these situations with patience, calm presence, gentle redirection, and lots of empathy, using simple tools like deep breaths together, naming feelings, offering choices, or creating quiet cozy spots when needed.
The most important part about being a nanny...
One of my favorite nanny moments is watching a shy child slowly open up and let their true personality shine.
I once cared for a little one who started off quiet and hesitant, sticking close to mom during drop-offs and saying very little. Over time, through consistent routines like reading books together, building blocks side by side, and exploring their favorite toys. Shortly after coming they started sharing stories about their favorite animals, picked flowers for me on our morning walks together, and even drawing pictures to show me.
Those moments of connection always lead to the most enjoyable times! Seeing them feel secure enough to be themselves is incredibly rewarding. It’s that growing trust and the way their unique personality emerges that makes nannying so meaningful to me.
