A little bit about me

Hello my name is Ilia Arnold! I am 20 years old and currently completing my senior year at Appalachian State! I have three years of experience babysitting children and have had various volunteering opportunities either through summer camps or in occupational therapy school shadowing. I am a very patient, understanding, and compassionate person. I believe everyone should be heard and validated no matter their age! Being a good role model and showing children how to navigate the world is so important and it starts with the people closest to them. I am safe sitter certified by UNC. I am open to working with all ages of children and can work with up to two children at a time. I’m a great cleaner and would be willing to do any house chores, pet responsibilities, tutoring, or meal prep. I have a car and my drivers license, so transportation is not a problem. More About Me

Relevant experience where I also cared for children were...

I was a longtime babysitter for two children ages 3-8, one of which was autistic. I’ve also had experience as a caretaker for a child who was nonverbal and used a wheelchair. I am also currently studying and shadowing pediatric occupational therapists to apply to MSOT programs.

Activities I enjoy doing with children...

I love doing any type of fun crafts and outdoors activities!! Going on walks and nature crafts are my favorite.

The most important part about being a nanny...

I think it’s most important to show kindness and be patient with children, all children deserve to feel cared for and heard. We as figures in their life are who they look up to and we have to help show them the positive choices they can make. It is also very important to help children navigate their emotions and any obstacles successfully, so they can develop problem solving skills and regulate themselves.

My experience with special needs children...

I worked for three years as a babysitter for an autistic child who had meltdown, sensory and food triggers, attention deficits, etc. I’ve also worked as a caretaker for a nonverbal child who was a wheelchair user and has a feeding tube.
