More About Me
Relevant experience where I also cared for children were...
It isn't formal but I was adopted by someone who ran a daycare and I would often assist with childcare duties, as a child myself, I've gathered infant caring experience from a very young age.
Activities I enjoy doing with children...
With babies, I enjoy anything that stimulates their motor skills, and cognition development. As they age I enjoy activities that stimulate their fine and gross motor development. Before introducing motor skill development, I revel in exposing babies to various sensory experiences, this is the most fun for me.
The most important part about being a nanny...
What's most important to me about caring for kids is probably recognizing and taking opportunities to expel life through love(teaching kindness and self-awareness), laughter(amusing kids and myself) and creativity(implementing opportunities to be artistic and creating problem-solving scenarios). I think that all of these brings about a safe space for a kid who is learning to become a human being in society, which is the single most important part of caring for kids!
My experience with special needs children...
I cared for a toddler with a growth deficiency. A growth deficiency isn't necessarily a special needs case but his deficiency significantly impacted his physical development and daily functioning. He required a lot of immediate physical assistance with gross and fine motor skills. He also had a speech delay and required continuous assistance with communicating needs and wants.
The most important part about being a nanny...
Oh, man. It's hard to name just one, or to think of just one when each day is filled with many funny moments like when a baby I cared for put something over his head to be funny. Or when the toddler I care for pretends as if she is older than me and calls me "little girl". And of course when the 7 year old I care for directs me on where to drive based on which road he feels like driving down (he is very good with directions and has a great sense of spatial awareness so I trust him!)
