A little bit about me

Hi families! My name is Ingrid and I’m looking for a nanny job! A little bit about me-I'm 23 and just graduated from Cal Poly San Luis Obispo with a degree in Psychology. I was born and raised in Missoula, Montana in a tight knit family of 5. I swam competitively my whole life so I'm super comfortable in the water :) I have experience working with children of a variety of ages- After graduating from HS I volunteered for 1yr in an Americorps program working and teaching in a 3rd grade classroom in a school in NH. I also worked with children 4-13 after & before school. Summer of 2022 I was a full time nanny for a 2-year-old boy (45 hrs/wk) -I am comfortable with potty training, nap time, swim help, and tutoring. This past quarter in San Luis Obispo I interned at Monarch Hills Education, an outdoor enrichment program, where I worked with children 3-12. I have experience with neurodiversity, autism, adhd, and learning & behavioral issues. Also I love animals in case you have any pets!

More About Me

Relevant experience where I also cared for children were...

-Americorps City Year (2019): I volunteered a year working in an elementary school in NH. I worked with and taught a big range of ages (kindergarten-5th grade) 50 plus hours a week. I spent most of my time in a 3rd grade classroom and with individual focus groups I was responsible for who needed extra help.
-Full time Nanny for a 2 year old boy (2022): I’m comfortable with potty training, nap time and swim help/ teaching
-Monarch Hills Education (2023): I interned at an outdoor enrichment program in San Luis Obispo working with kids aged 3-12. The focus was to allow children to learn through hands on exploration in their community with their peers and teachers in their interactions with the environment. This program was best for students who didn’t thrive in the standard school system.
-Babysitting & Tutoring (2018 & on): I tutored 2 boys who were refugees from Syria my senior year of hs as a part of Arabic Honors Society. I have also babysat throughout the years for many families.

Activities I enjoy doing with children...

I love being outdoors with kids, being active, cooking, making art, crafts, drawing, painting, playing outdoor games, teaching sports, swimming, tutoring/working on academics, chatting and hearing about kids thoughts & dreams, playing board games, puzzles, taking walks, observing & exploring nature, bike rides, hikes, etc.

The most important part about being a nanny...

My favorite part about spending time with kids is all the things that they teach me! Kids just make me happy in general and I love their energy. Most importantly they keep me focused on the present moment and remind me the beauty in the small things
