A little bit about me

Hi, my name is Irian! I’m originally from Miami, FL, and my journey brought me to Columbus about 5 years ago.

As the eldest daughter, I was raised with a deep sense of responsibility for my younger siblings , a role that shaped who I am today. I’m currently raising my youngest sister full-time, and caring for children has always been one of the most natural and meaningful parts of my life.

In high school, I was part of a childcare program where I worked hands-on with infants through 7 year olds, as well as teenagers on the autism spectrum. At the time, I thought I wanted to become a teacher, and that experience taught me patience, adaptability, and how to truly connect with kids of all ages and needs.

After college, my path led me into corporate marketing, but my love for children never left. I bring the same care, attentiveness, and responsibility into babysitting that I do into everything else in my life because I genuinely put my heart and soul into all that I do.

More About Me

Relevant experience where I also cared for children were...

12 years ago I was involved in a child care program in my church (King Jesus Ministries) in Miami. I was one of the leaders who overlooked the staff and was hands on with the children of all ages while service was going on.

Every week, i was in charge of fun activities whether it be coloring, hands on crafts, exploring outside (treasure hunts), or teaching them about the Christian faith.

Activities I enjoy doing with children...

I believe playtime can be just as educational as it is fun. I love creating pretend grocery store and shopping scenarios using play money to teach kids about budgeting, counting, and making payments, turning everyday life skills into something playful and engaging.

Whether we’re baking together, exploring nature, building elaborate block towers, or having an impromptu dance party, my goal is always to make children feel safe, valued, and excited to learn.

My experience with special needs children...

While my hands-on experience with special needs children has been more limited, I worked closely with teenagers on the autism spectrum during my time in the high school childcare program, and I bring the same patience, awareness, and adaptability to every child I care for.

The most important part about being a nanny...

My favorite nanny moment had to be the independence a child starts getting when they get the hang of something and how their confidence pushed them to learn more.

For example: when I was in the child are program in my sophomore year of high school, i was working with prekindergartens and each week each group of “teachers” (us) had to come up with lesson plans. Towards the end of the school year you would see all the students so confident with their new set of words, and would be so excited to say their ABC’s or for the “teachers” to ask them questions about colors or animals. It was such a joy to witness.
