I have done assorted child care in the past. For three years I worked as a nanny for a 3 and 4y/o, for 3-4 days a week after school, and partially overnight. I also cared for an infant once a week for a year. All while holding other assorted jobs for family friends and others. The oldest child I’ve cared for was 10 and the youngest was 5 months.
Activities I enjoy doing with children...
I always love to do something creative and colorful with the kids I care for. Depending on their capabilities I change the activity to best suit the child. Ideally something that lets their creative mind wander and make them feel accomplished.
The most important part about being a nanny...
I want to know the child feels happy and comfortable in my care! I remember spending time in childcare and feeling like they didn’t understand what kids actually liked or wanted to do. It’s my goal to have your kid excited for me to come back instead of dreading the next time you have to go.
