A little bit about me

Hi! I’m a mother to a 9 month old little boy, so I have hands on experience caring for infants and understanding their daily needs. I also helped care for a child with Down syndrome who lived with us, and I have experience helping supervise children at a horse camp. I know every child is different and deserves patience, attention, and individualized care. My goal is to help parents feel comfortable and confident knowing their child is in good hands because I understand that your child is your whole world. I speak fluent Spanish and would be happy to introduce children to Spanish through everyday conversation. I also have some experience playing the flute and enjoy encouraging creativity and learning. In addition to childcare, I’m happy to help with light housekeeping and simple daily chores. I have a clean background and a genuine love for working with children.

More About Me

Relevant experience where I also cared for children were...

This is the first time I’m doing paid experience but I’m a mother myself. But I used to watch my neighbors kids she has 3 since her baby was only weeks old, I also watched for a down syndrome child of a family friend. I’ve also volunteered in being one of the supervisors of the children in a horse camp. I’ve been around and watched children of all ages including special needs children plus me also being a mom to a little boy.

Activities I enjoy doing with children...

I personally love music and would love to introduce basic music notes. I also used to do rodeos so I love the outdoors with animals with kids. I showed a goat before and was very involved in my FFA. I also what to help children express themselves even if I don’t much myself for example I’m the worst artist but maybe they can teach me something on how to draw!

The most important part about being a nanny...

For me it all has to with parents. Yes I may be watching your children while you do what you need to do but no matter what these are your kids and every nanny should always know to respect boundaries and expectations. I want to make the children happy to see me and feel safe but I also want to make sure parents truly feel safe and secure to leave there children under my care. I do like to send photos and check up to parents so they know what’s going on and how their child is through the day to make sure they are filled in about everything. I do love to keep a very open and strong communication.

My experience with special needs children...

I did watch a child with Down syndrome multiple times and his mother hated going to Houston alone and I would accompany her with him to see his appointment. He’s much older now and very much still close friends and she is now expecting another baby soon!
