Activities I enjoy doing with children...
Embarking on a day filled with laughter and learning, I love to engage children in a variety of fun and enriching activities. From imaginative arts and crafts sessions where we create masterpieces out of recycled materials to outdoor adventures that involve scavenger hunts and nature exploration, the possibilities are endless. Cooking up a storm in the kitchen becomes an interactive learning experience as we whip up simple recipes together, fostering a love for food and essential culinary skills. Storytime takes on a whole new dimension with animated readings and the occasional impromptu puppet show, sparking their creativity and imagination. Music and dance are non-negotiable, with impromptu dance parties breaking out whenever the mood strikes. These activities not only entertain but also contribute to the children's cognitive, emotional, and social development, creating a dynamic and joyful atmosphere that makes every day an adventure.
The most important part about being a nanny...
The most important aspect of being a nanny is undoubtedly the well-being and development of the children under your care. Beyond providing basic care, a nanny plays a crucial role in shaping a child's early years. This involves fostering a safe, nurturing, and stimulating environment that supports their physical, emotional, and intellectual growth. Building strong and positive relationships with the children is key, as it establishes trust and a sense of security. Effective communication with parents is also vital, ensuring a collaborative approach to childcare that aligns with the family's values and expectations. Ultimately, a great nanny is dedicated to creating a supportive and loving atmosphere, contributing to the overall happiness and healthy development of the children in their charge.
The most important part about being a nanny...
Embarking on the delightful challenge of teaching a 16-month-old girl the art of the high five was a heartwarming experience. With an abundance of patience, playfulness, and a sprinkle of creativity, I engaged her in a series of interactive games. Using her favorite toys and a lot of animated enthusiasm, I began modeling the high five gesture, encouraging her to mimic the action. Through repetition and positive reinforcement, we turned this simple act into a playful routine. The magic moment came when, after a burst of giggles and wiggles, she confidently raised her tiny hand, connecting with mine in a perfect high five. The joy on her face was matched only by the astonishment in her mother's eyes. Witnessing her daughter's newfound skill, the mother was genuinely impressed, and the shared delight in this small triumph solidified our bond in the journey of early childhood development.

Hello! My name is Amber Ford. Im 26 years old and have had 6+ years experience watching children, 5 years paid.
I want nothing more than to be a mother, and I enjoy helping young minds navigate the world around us. I’ve recently been a part of a nanny share with two children close in age and would love to continue that journey as I prepare for a child of my own!
I can do meal prep, mild housework, and organize activities for the child(ren) and myself to do. (This includes parks, museums, libraries, etc.)
I enjoy singing, dancing, reading, hiking, and overall have a good time! I also studied Montessori style learning as well as gentle/baby led learning. If needed I have a ton of excellent references as well including my past nanny share.
I look forward to hearing from you!
