Relevant experience where I also cared for children were...

I have experience caring for children of different ages through both paid and volunteer work, including caring for family members, babysitting for families outside of my family, and volunteering at a home daycare. I’ve also house-sat and helped care for pets and homes while families were away. My experience includes preparing meals and snacks, supervising and entertaining children, helping with routines, keeping spaces tidy, laundry, cleaning, organizing, and other day-to-day household tasks. I also regularly help manage the household I live in, which is a seven-person household, including keeping up with chores, laundry, cleaning, organizing, and day-to-day responsibilities. I’m comfortable balancing childcare with household tasks, noticing what needs to be done, and taking initiative. I enjoy being someone families can trust and rely on, whether they need childcare, household help, or a combination of both.

I enjoy doing a variety of activities with children depending on their age, personality, and interests. I especially enjoy arts and crafts, drawing, painting, and other creative activities, as well as going to parks and playing outside. I also enjoy reading books together, playing games, doing puzzles, and finding fun ways to keep children engaged and learning. I understand that every child is different and has their own likes, dislikes, interests, and comfort levels, so I’m experienced with planning activities around what each child enjoys and adapting plans when something isn’t working for them. I like letting kids use their imagination while creating a fun, safe, and comfortable environment for them.

The most important part about being a nanny...

I think the most important part of being a nanny is creating a safe, trusting, and positive environment where children feel comfortable being themselves. Every child is different, so I think it’s important to be patient, attentive, and willing to adapt to their personality, needs, and interests. I also believe communication with parents is important so everyone is on the same page about routines, expectations, and what works best for their child. Most importantly, I want children to feel cared for, respected, and supported while still having fun and enjoying their time with me.

The most important part about being a nanny...

One of my favorite moments was doing an art activity with a child and watching them become completely absorbed in what they were creating. They were so excited to show me their finished project and explain all the little details they had added. I love moments like that because they remind me how creative and imaginative children are, and how something simple can become such a fun and meaningful experience for them. Seeing a child get excited about something they created themselves is one of my favorite parts of caring for kids.
