Once I had the opportunity to care for two young siblings, a 16-month-old girl and her 7-year-old brother. One afternoon we were cooking dinner together, and while we were waiting for the food, we decided to put on some music and have a mini dance party in the kitchen. The kids were laughing and being so silly, and it was such a heartfelt moment.

One of my favorite nanny moments with the kids I cared for was when we were doing a craft project together, and the youngest one, who's usually shy, suddenly opened up and started telling me all about her day at school. It was such a sweet, unexpected moment of connection. I could tell she felt comfortable and safe sharing her thoughts with me.
