A little bit about me

I've been a caretaker my whole life! Starting at the age of 16, I became a CNA to care for my great grandma in nursing facility. I became a Staff Developer for Avalon care facility, I was in charge of hiring, training/education, and scheduling. I maintained employee files updated and trained on all needed licensures, and required hours of education for all staff as needed.

I branched out & became a licensed RNA and wrote/provided individualized PT & OT programs for groups of individual patients within the care facility.

I then veered to becoming a a Sr Behavioral Tech providing care and therapy for housed individuals at the Wyoming State training school. Providing a full home care living environment by assisting and/or providing all ADLs depending on each individuals level of need. I also became a licensed EMT.

I am a mother of 4 and grandmother to 5 (all under age of 3. Two autistic)! I clean, do laundry, whatever makes your life easier, all kids ages and will drive!

More About Me

Relevant experience where I also cared for children were...

I have 4 kids of my own plus 5 grandchildren all under the age of three. I have worked in the daycare center setting, and honestly didn't enjoy it much. I prefer a more individualized caretaking opportunity for more personalized care and assistance.

Activities I enjoy doing with children...

I enjoy doing a variety of activities with children! Story time, assisting with homeschooling, hide & go seek and even teaching them the ways of culinary arts by allowing them to assist with meals planning and prep. I love to use my imagination and participate with kids in pretend play an example..building couch/blanket forts. But my favorite is story time. Reading to the kids..or them read to me and watching the different expressions and reactions for each new adventure.

The most important part about being a nanny...

Is having an unwavering understanding of what is needed and expected to meet each families needs with utmost adherence, responsibility and trustworthiness. To understand, respect, and honor each other.

My experience with special needs children...

I have 2 autistic grandchildren whom are the light of my existence! Each child is different and has a different approach to the way things are done. I am patient and yet firm in the areas needed to provide love and compassion but stand firm to not allow the child to "walk all over me" but will listen to child's needs and wants and take every day and a new adventure as a team.

The most important part about being a nanny...

Ooh there are so many favorites! But I think my ultimate fav is the first time they run up to hug you, not wanting you to leave for the day...when you become part of their family and world and fully accepted.
