More About Me

Relevant experience where I also cared for children were...

I have worked in daycares since I was 14, and I volunteered at the children’s home in Port Aransas every summer for 4 years.

Activities I enjoy doing with children...

I enjoy engaging kids minds with games and activities that are age appropriate but will also help them to learn and grow. I’m a firm believer in keeping children’s minds focused on interactive, person-to-person contact. I think that electronics and screen time can be fun and helpful but I prefer to get the kiddos outside or interacting in person with me and siblings to help them develop communication and social skills.

The most important part about being a nanny...

What matters most to me as a nanny is seeing the child(den) thrive and develop. I love seeing them grow into their personality and becoming their own person. I want to see them use skills they learned from the activities I provide to problem solve and develop critical thinking skills.

My experience with special needs children...

I cared for children for 7 years that had developmental and cognitive delays. I also have experience working with feeding tubes, insulin dependency and diabetes, as well as behavioral disorders.

The most important part about being a nanny...

My favorite nanny moment was about 6 years ago when the youngest son, now middle child, asked if I could make the mother have their baby sister sooner. I said I wouldn’t be able to do that, that was up to the baby to decide when she’s ready to come out. He then told me “Well if she can’t come out sooner, can we at least name her Spock?” And we laughed for a long time, and even still do to this day!
