I’m a 17-year-old high school student with previous childcare experience at a daycare, where I cared for children of different ages by feeding them, preparing meals, supervising them, comforting them, and planning activities. I’m currently in a nursing program during the school day and working toward my CPR certification and First Aid certificate. I know the basics in first aid. Activities I enjoy doing with children...

I enjoy doing arts and crafts, playing games, reading, going outside, doing age-appropriate activities, and finding fun ways to keep children engaged and entertained.

The most important part about being a nanny...

To me, being a nanny is not only about playing and having fun with children, although I believe that is important too. It’s also about teaching them, guiding them, correcting them when needed, and helping them grow into respectful and confident individuals while working alongside their parents. I want the children I care for to feel that I’m genuinely there for them and that I care about their well-being. I don’t want them to feel like I’m simply their nanny—I want them to feel safe, supported, and cared for.

My experience with special needs children...

I have experience working with children with special needs through my school’s LINKS program, where I help and support students throughout the school day. I also gained experience caring for children with different needs while working at a daycare. These experiences have taught me to be patient, understanding, supportive, and attentive to each child’s individual needs.

The most important part about being a nanny...

I haven’t worked as a nanny yet, but my favorite moments caring for children are when they become comfortable with me and I get to see their personalities come out. I love when children feel safe, happy, and excited to spend time with me. I
