If given the opportunity, I usually provide options and let the kids pick what they want to do, and roll with that with enthusiasm. On the other hand, my enthusiasm towards an activity usually sparks an interest in the kids.

My experience with special needs children...
In my role as a Course Instructor for a STEM summer camp, I had students who were autistic, had special learning needs, and/or behavioral issues. There were a few students in particular who I had to adjust my teaching pace, style, etc. to ensure they had a good experience each day. This helped me learn how to communicate to multiple children at once who process information totally differently, and how to set boundaries with all students to give me the breathing room to handle 1:1 situation.
