Relevant experience where I also cared for children were...
I have been babysitting since I was 12 years old. I also have observed and learned how to work with kids who have special needs. I also am constantly volunteering at my church with the kids, trying to come up with fun things for them to do. I spend most of my time with kids when I am at church, haha. I also was a swimming teacher for kids at the YMCA. I have also had a little experience observing a 2nd Grade classroom.
Activities I enjoy doing with children...
I love to go on walks with kids, doing things outside so that they can get all of their energy out. I also do enjoy spending quality time watching a movie or two with them. I try my best to keep screen time under control with kids, especially now in the world of virtual learning.
The most important part about being a nanny...
Being there for the kids and ensuring their happiness. My job is to benefit the kids, make sure they are fed, rested, and having the best time of their lives.
My experience with special needs children...
I have worked with many kids who are on the spectrum, from kids who you wouldn't even be able to tell all the way to nonverbal kids. I have observed and learned about many different ways to interact with kids who have special needs. I also babysat my cousin a lot, and she had to have a feeding tube the first four years of her life. I have learned a lot in those experiences and I am very grateful for it.
The most important part about being a nanny...
When I covered my face in paint to keep a kid engaged in the activity, and then found out the red paint slightly stained my face. But I had a lot of fun, and I think a little stain is worth a lot of fun.
