More About Me
Relevant experience where I also cared for children were...
I have two significant experiences in childcare: two working in a private home setting and one in a Vacation Bible School summer program at my local church.
In the private home setting, I worked as a very frequent babysitter for a family from [phone number hidden] until I moved to a city far away for schooling. I worked for a family taking care of a boy starting when he was a little over a year old and a young girl when she was 4-6 months. I prioritized safety beyond all else, but I also built rapport with both the children and parents, cooked meals, planned activities and enforced rules, prepped for bedtime, kept the home clean, etc.
The Vacation Bible School program was volunteer work I completed in the summers assisting in teaching arts and crafts to classes of 20+ kindergartners multiple times a day. As a hobby-artist, it was very fulfilling to help young children tap into their creative side and express themselves.
I had also babysat for families as they needed throughout this time.

Activities I enjoy doing with children...
Age-appropriate, learning-based play is my favorite activity to do with children! From reading to building blocks to arts and crafts, I am a firm believer that kids can learn a lot while having fun! In addition I love serving kids their meals in fun shapes such as hearts and mickey mouse heads for eggs and pancakes. I like going outside with kids and letting them enjoy the sun while at the park.
The most important part about being a nanny...
The most important part about being a nanny is safety and vigilance to maintain it. It is extremely important to keep a constant eye on the children being watched because anyone's safety can be compromised within a matter of seconds - it is important to keep a watchful eye and act fast.
My experience with special needs children...
I have limited experience with a toddler with level 3 autism. I am open to learning more about taking care of special needs children.
Although this is not childcare, I took care of my grandmother daily in her last few years suffering from Alzheimer's. I am very aware of how different people with special needs or disabilities need different things to function.

The most important part about being a nanny...
My favorite nanny moment was the first time I received a text from a mom saying their child was asking where I was and when I could come back to play again.
