More About Me

Relevant experience where I also cared for children were...

I have babysitting/house sitting experience for previous neighbors and volunteered in the church nursery years ago. I also have experience working with children with special needs. I am also a mother myself(if that counts)!

Activities I enjoy doing with children...

Depending on age, the activities can vary. I do love going outside, whether that’s an outing to the park, a walk, or just the backyard. With younger children(babies and toddlers), I love sensory bins and developmental play. With bigger age groups, I love doing crafts, going new places(with parent permission), and teaching them life skills in a way that works for their age. I am able to tutor/assist with homework if needed!

The most important part about being a nanny...

Being on the same page with the parents in all aspects, including rules, discipline, activities, morals, etc. is definitely one of the most important parts of nannying. It takes a village to raise children, but if the village is divided, it will not be productive!

My experience with special needs children...

I have previously cared for 2 children with special needs, including autism and a speech disorder. I worked with both the child and the speech therapist to help develop her speech. The other child was elementary age, and had autism. He went to school during the day, and when he got home I helped him with activities and tasks he needed to complete.

The most important part about being a nanny...

I have previously nannied part time for a family with 3 kids, ages 5, 2, and 6 months. The oldest went to school during the day, and the younger 2 stayed with me. My favorite time was putting the baby down for her first nap of the day. The 2 year old always wanted to help! He was so sweet. He would always hug her before I put her down and say “have a good nap sissy!” He was the sweetest big brother.
