Activities I enjoy doing with children...
I love bringing materials for arts and crafts, age appropriate of course. I think it's so cute for kids to make their parents home made gifts. I also love taking kids to the park, library, and out for ice cream. I believe creativity is much more important than screen time, especially these days. I love bringing things for children to color on and learning workbooks for the little ones.
The most important part about being a nanny...
I think the most important thing about being a nanny is creating a loving, safe where kids feel free to play and have a great time. Also, helping them with school work or teaching them their ABCs, numbers, etc., depending on age. Although those things are important, it is also important to clean up and help prepare meals to make it easier on the parents.
My experience with special needs children...
I have worked with a five year old girl who had down syndrome. She needed assistance eating and bathing. She was also still in pull ups.
The most important part about being a nanny...
My favorite nanny moment was helping potty train a two year old boy. His mother worked a lot and was having trouble helping him. She expressed this to me and I surprised her one day when he was doing really well. After a couple weeks, he was potty trained. I also taught his 5 year old brother how to ride a bike with training wheels. His mother was also happily surprised when we showed her.
