I’m a daycare teacher for 2-3 year olds currently. as well as personal babysitting jobs and internships at daycares in my area.
Activities I enjoy doing with children...
I love active learning activities and having kids really involved in what’s happening. Whether it’s arts and crafts or reading a book, I’m always finding a way to incorporate some type of counting, identifying shapes and letters, etc. I love reading myself so I try to get every kid I meet to love books as much as I do! I love out door activities as well even if it’s just getting fresh air.
The most important part about being a nanny...
To me, the most important thing about being a nanny is being gentle, patient and understanding. I’ve learned that children are truly emotional beings and allowing them to express themselves while also teaching them how to control their emotions requires tons of patience and understanding. Being attentive is another important about being a nanny. It allows you to recognize what a child needs/wants when it’s hard for them to communicate or when they’re infants and can’t speak.
