A little bit about me

I love working with kids because their honesty and willingness to learn makes them fun to teach. I view life as a LONG learning assignment.
As a retired math teacher, I love to connect with kids one-on-one, something I didn't get teaching over 180 students.
Beside being a foster parent, I have a lot of one-to-one experience to boys from broken homes when I was in programs like Big Brothers, Companions, and Be-A-Mentor. This is what I have LOVED to do more than any work I've done; this volunteer experience has helped me as a teacher to deal and work with the many students I've encountered over the years.
I've been to 35 countries, backpacked through Europe for two months, made 10 or so one-to-two-week humanitarian trips to Cuba, Mexico, Romania, Ukraine, Siberia, Peru, and built homes with Habitat for Humanity here in the United States. So, I love to travel and am available, perhaps, to travel with your family.
