Hi my name is Jamiah, but I go by Mia. I am 21 years old. I currently work at children’s Hospital as a behavioral associate with kids ages from 4 years old to 18 years old. I have babysit my moms friends kids as a nanny for four years. I have baby sat my brother from age 9-13. I have a goofy personality, I am caring, reliable and dependable. I enjoy working with kids because I enjoy learning different personality and I like being goofy with kids. Working with kids has always been enjoyable for me because kids enjoy having someone who can be goofy, playful and someone who is caring and will listen to whatever needs , problems or even conversations about their toys, friends and what they would like to be when they grown up. Relevant experience where I also cared for children were...

I am currently working at children’s of Alabama with kids ages from 4-18 years old, I have worked at my church childrens church with kids from 1 month to 9 years old, I have volunteered to work at Children’s hospital daycare, I have babysat my brother and a few of my mom’s friends children.

Activities I enjoy doing with children...

I enjoy going for hikes, swimming, playing basketball, baseball, racing, riding bikes, riding scooters, board games, watching movies on Disney plus, and baking.

The most important part about being a nanny...

A few things that are important to me as a baby is getting to know what kids like and dislike, listening to the kid’s ,teaching kids coping skills if they were to ever get mad or sad, building a bond with kids, and allowing kids to be themselves no matter what.

My experience with special needs children...

I have cared for kids with autism, kids who are visionary impaired, and kids who are hearing impaired.

The most important part about being a nanny...

A memory I remember I have had with kids who I have baby sat is, when one of my kids at my job told me “ I am her bestfriend for the very end”, because I allowed her to stay up a little late to watch princess and the frog.
