During the summer I am an inclusion counselor working with kids with disabilities. I have worked at a daycare and currently work at a learning center watching infants and toddlers. I used to work at a boys and girls club with kids ranging from Kindergarten to high school.
Activities I enjoy doing with children...
I enjoy painting, reading, doing S.T.E.M projects like building a aircraft out of legos, I enjoy going outside and going for walks. When it rains I love watching movies and being cozy. I am also a sucker for dance parties and the kids love it!
The most important part about being a nanny...
The most important part about being a nanny or caregiver is being able to make a difference in a child's life. Being able to impact them in a positive way and show them that they can and will achieve any and all that they want to do. While you're doing that you're also making a parents life easier by giving them a break wether its a couple who need a date night, or a single mom having to work overnight, or a mom who just gave birth to a new baby and has two toddlers and she just needs a second. You get to impact both the kids and their parents.

I have worked with kids whom are on the spectrum, have diabetes and NG feeding/ hydrating tubes.
The most important part about being a nanny...
I have a lot of favorite moments being that I've been working with kids for several years, how ever my cutest memory is when my I was watching a group of kids, whom were all on the spectrum and usually they were quiet, soft spoken, and didn't enjoy participating in anything. One morning I started playing panic at the disco and started dancing no matter how embracing I looked, but then the room filled with so much light. The kids were dancing, smiling and for the first time one of the kids spoke to me and he said "thank you" now this may be small to some, but for the entire year I worked with these kids he never spoke and something told me he just needed a smile. I look back on that moment everyday and it is what makes becoming a teacher worth it.
