"We were incredibly lucky to have found Jamie is the spring of 2020. We always say that she was the best thing that came out of Covid for our family. More About Me

Relevant experience where I also cared for children were...

I started off as a nanny. I found my love for educating children through play and nature. I decided to open my own small daycare called My Nanny’s Place and was licensed in 2006 and do that until this past February. I thought I wanted a change and now I do before and after school care. Due to a recent divorce and move I must change my job in order to be more available to my two amazing kids ages 8 and 10.

Activities I enjoy doing with children...

Hikes. Anything outdoors in nature. Art. All the kinds parents don’t want to do because it’s too messy! Lots of sensory activities. Kids can learn so much through play adventure and exploration. Lots of music songs and reading. I treat the children I care for with the love and respect I would want someone to take care of my own. Lots of smiles laughs and giggles all day!!

My experience with special needs children...

Prior to 2006 I worked with adults and children with disabilities. I worked with older children in the community assisting them in individual goals. I also worked with children with autism in their homes supporting the child and his/her parents. I currently have children with special needs in my program and also have experience working with people with physical disabilities.

The most important part about being a nanny...

Actually it was 18 years later… I went back to my first job I had as a nanny. It turns out they never took down the tree I made as a growth chart. It’s still there. The biggest compliment is that I have had many of my children come back and volunteer at my daycare. Work the summer. And even teach swim lessons to my daycare kids. When they come back and tell me how much I meant to them… it means the world to me.
