There was a little girl, just two years old, whose parents worked long hours at the hospital. She would often feel sad at drop-off, but we bonded through quiet time, reading, and play. One day, she was so engaged in our story time that she didn’t even notice her mom had arrived. When she realized it was time to go, she gave me a hug and made the little heart sign I had taught her. It was such a beautiful reminder of how love and presence can make a difference.
