A little bit about me

I'm a college junior with six years of experience in childcare, camp, and classroom settings. I would be delighted to support a family in Decatur with regular or occasional childcare beginning this fall.

I've been privileged to work with children and their families in a variety of settings, from one-on-one toddler care, to Waldorf agricultural summer camp, to reading support classes for middle schoolers with dyslexia. I've learned enormously from every child I've cared for, aided, or taught. Among the most valuable of these lessons have been how to intuit needs communicated non-verbally, how to guide emotional regulation, how to facilitate quick and restorative conflict resolution, and how to be fully present and effective in high-pressure circumstances.

These lessons ground my childcare philosophy: Good childcare is individualized, encourages independence, and respects the whole child.
