I have a driver's license with no accidents or citations. I have also been trained in early childhood development.

Activities I enjoy doing with children...

Depending on age; Sensory play, using music for dance activity and coloring while teaching colors and shapes. Going outside and looking for treasures, I teach the colors and shapes we find. I like to use the treasures to make creative pictures using glue to a fastener.
I like teaching with a calendar - the child will learn the date, day, time, and season. If there is a holiday in the month we talk about the holiday and make something special for mom and dad. I just like playing what the child enjoys.

The most important part about being a nanny...

The most important part about being a nanny is to have genuine kindness, be sensitive in nature, be efficient, follow instructions, be able to multi-task and be a good communicator. I take care of children as if they were my own.

My experience with special needs children...

I have experience with Downs children. We play and learn according to the child's capabilities. I try and increase their skills as they tolerate them.
I have a genuine feelings for them and they tend to sense that.

The most important part about being a nanny...

when I was watching a little boy that was hyper and almost out of control, I took him outside and we play with the bubble maker. I had him chase the bubbles and pop as many as he could. His laughing and running after bubbles for about 15 minutes tired him out some. We went back inside and now he was able to play in the sensory bin and calmed down. It was watching him having such a good time that warmed and tickled my heart.
