I've been a professional nanny and family assistant for 9 years. I started babysitting when I was about 12 years old and have always loved kids.
I'm currently finishing a full spectrum doula certification to care for mothers and babies through the stages of birth. I've volunteered at the local animal shelter to teach kid's from challenging backgrounds about empathy for animals. The kids would read to the dogs and practice what they learned about reading body language, it was really precious.
I've often worked with multiple families as a "nanny share" where I've cared for as many as 6+ kids at a time! It's the most fun and rewarding job.

Arts and crafts, being in nature, playing musical instruments, playing all sorts of games, charades, puppet shows, watching movies, cooking/baking together, reading books, going on an adventure or outing to somewhere fun.. the list goes on!
My experience with special needs children...
I've worked with kiddos of various needs from ADHD, ADD, autistic spectrum and other neurodivergent realms. While it can most certainly present challenges, I have cultivated (and am always seeking to continue cultivating/ learning/ improving) the patience, gentle presence and behavioral understandings it takes to show up for kiddos in this capacity.
The most important part about being a nanny...
There have been countless amazing moments as a nanny.. some of the most tender times are when they accidently call me mom, or when they tell me they love me. I'm still in touch with all the kiddos I've cared for long term and it's a really special bond we have. Some of the deepest belly laughs come from working with kids. I'm always learning from them and being inspired by them. They teach me new things constantly and leave me in awe with how wise their hearts are. I love being silly and coming up with our own games together. Inside jokes and memories to last a lifetime.
