A little bit about me

I've worked in childcare professionally since 2012. I've worked in both a daycare setting (3 years) and Head Start program(6years). I've successfully managed classes at max ratio aged from birth to 8 years. A majority of my experience is with children 18m to 5y. I use conscious discipline to foster age appropriate interpersonal skills as well as promoting healthy social and emotional development. I current have an active CDA accreditation, am CPR and First Aide certified and have had Serve Safe Training. I have also had state required Child Abuse and Neglect training as well as Sleep Safe training.

Is being in the moment with the child and remembering to meet them where they are.

My experience with special needs children...

I've worked with several children on the Autism Spectrum successfully using the strategies already implemented by therapies they were already using as well as by building a meaningful relationship with the children to learn their special interests and meet them where they were to be able to gain an understanding of how to best help the thrive and grow. I find working with children on the spectrum to be quite rewarding.

The most important part about being a nanny...

My favorite teaching moment was watching my roommates 2 year old use conscious discipline's methods to self regulate and use her words to Express what she needed and how she was feeling.
