I think the most important part of caring for children is empathy. Children are new to the world and still learning about this thing we call “life”. Well, us, as adults, are still learning about life every day as well! Allowing a child to express themselves and letting them know it’s OK to express themselves, whether it’s happy feelings or sad feelings, is vital. I think as caregivers we must create a safe environment for children both physically and emotionally. It’s important to build up a child’s physical, cognitive, language, and social-emotional development.
