Hi! My name is Jasmine and I am a junior at the University of Utah. I am studying Communications and plan on getting my masters in Secondary Education. I'm originally from Chicago, IL and have 4 dogs at home. Throughout my life I have always been the babysitter in the family, especially for my three nephews as they've grown up. I also had a nannying job last year for about 4 months, watching three children 5 days a week. More About Me

Relevant experience where I also cared for children were...

I have babysat and taken care of my three nephews since they were born up until now! I have always also been the one at family parties or occasions to watch the kiddos and take care of them. Additionally, the last nannying job I had, I watched three kids. I was with them 5 days a week, 9 hours a day. I would help the two boys get ready in the morning, take them to school, and after school activities. During the day, I would watch the 3 year old girl, and we would do many fun activities while sticking to the schedule. Preparing meals, traveling the children around, and household chores were all apart of my regimen. Overall, I have always had a passion for childcare and education!

Going to the park or library, going to play gyms, reading, coloring, playing with play doe, sports outside, and many more.

The most important part about being a nanny...

The most important thing about being a nanny or babysitter is loving what you do. It is very important to remain patient, caring, and engaged with this children to build trust with them. I have seen many cases of just putting the TV on or distracting them with a phone, but I believe active engagement and paying attention to them and their particular needs is very important to create a positive relationship and fun environment.

My experience with special needs children...

I have some experience in this area. My 7 year old nephew has autism and my 8 year old nephew has severe ADHD. At my last nannying job, one of the children was also on the spectrum. While providing care for these children, it is important to remain patient, caring, and attentive to their particular needs.

The most important part about being a nanny...

My favorite nanny moment has to be when I took the children I was nannying to school and while we waited at the school, we played tag over and over, laughing and smiling. Another favorite moment of mine was when I took the little girl I was nannying for to her dance class and got to dance with her, just having fun! Lastly, with my nephews, I love to play adventurer outside with them while finding bugs and trying to feed them to their Venus flytrap!
