Update: I recently sometime in January was a live in nanny for a set of twins one girl and one boy. They were 5/6 months of age I worked for a month and a couple weeks. I was used as an extra set of hands would help cook, clean, change diapers, feed them, bathe them, help with tummy time, and be some advice for when one of them got a fever. It was temporary just a 1 month job as mom had really bad postpartum.

I also recently the past couple weeks been babysitting a little babygirl at random who just turned 6 months also.

Activities I enjoy doing with children...

I love reading to kids, playing games, puzzles, arts n crafts, hide-n-seek, video games (if parents allow), painting/drawing, tag, board games, listening to music. etc

The most important part about being a nanny...

The most important part to me is the kids being comfortable/safe around me, but to also have a good relationship with the kids’ parents. I’m big on communication. If I see something going on with any of the kids I babysit that I feel like I have to bring up to the parent I have no problem doing so I’d just hope the parent/parents would trust me to say something instead of thinking I could be judging them and the way they parent or anything like that. Also if I am doing anything the parent doesn’t like or appreciate I’d hope that they would let me know. I’d never tell a parent how to be a parent, but I wouldn’t mind giving them advice if I have it if that makes sense.

My experience with special needs children...

Only special needs experience I have had with kids were them being on the spectrum. One of the boys named Parker his behavior was the worst and he had the hardest time, but he never gave me too many problems. He acted up mostly around his mother. She would give in to him easily out of being stressed. Her oldest son he is on the spectrum too and as he kept growing his behavior wasn’t so bad. He became very loving and not so awkward. His sensory problems got better once he started making friends. Parker though his behavior never changed too much he would have but outbursts and he didn’t mind being touched, but he had the worst tantrums. When he did that with me I would let him throw it and when he was done we would have a talk. Sometimes he was a hitter so I would just grab his hands and tell him that what he was feeling is ok, but that he needs to talk to me and not hit me or his brothers. He needs to use his words and if he needs help to come and get me.

The most important part about being a nanny...

I babysat an on the spectrum pre teen and at times he was very difficult and I knew he cared for me, but he wouldn’t ever hug me. One day after not seeing him for a while I went to babysit him and his brothers and he ran up to me and gave me the biggest hug. I’m not going to lie I definitely teared up a bit.
