Hello, my name is Jaylen Roman
I’m 19 years old and I know that am seem young but I do have years of experience from being the “family babysitter”. Growing up I watched my younger cousins and my little sister a lot. As I got older though, I decided I really do enjoy child care and taking care of children so I worked my eighth grade summer going into high school I worked as a camp counselor and for my community service hours my freshman year I did them at my local daycare. Then for two summers I worked with a single mom and helped her twins daughter (4) I took them out a lot to the park, movie at the library, the sprinklers/water park, pool, and sometimes we just had fun in the house painting coloring etc. Then for the pass two years I’ve been doing occasional babysitting jobs and worked 6 months as an infant daycare assistant until I moved.

"Jaylen is a highly trained caregiver that has experience which aligns well with every qualification that I was seeking. I have two twin boys who were 3 months old when Jaylen first started. It was never too much for her and she was always checking on them. During this time she would keep on track with their cluster feeding all throughout the night. A good activity she implemented into their daily routine was putting them in front of a shady window in a chair to give them some sensory time as she would talk to them and feed them. Just as the twins were approaching 6 months before Jaylen left, she started to teach them sign language. There was so much I didn’t know that I needed help with myself that Jaylen helped me with."

More About Me

Relevant experience where I also cared for children were...

I have 6 months of experience working in a preschool/infant room, during the summer I worked with the Pre-school 2 class which were children ages 3-4 1/2, once school started I moved over to the infant room.,I watched a brother and sister duo I helped them with virtual learning. I helped them log in every day, make sure they go to all their classes on time, make sure that the little girl who is in kindergarten is staying focused and participating, feed them their breakfast and lunch, and assist them each with their homework and school projects. On the weekends I do arts and crafts with them, if the weather is nice I'll take them to the park or well go for a walk and I'll let them run around and play with chalk.

My experience with special needs children...

I have a six-year-old cousin who has autism. He is non-verbal but is learning how to say certain things that he wants or needs, I usually watch him and his siblings on the weekends he's a fun kind-hearted boy who just has trouble experiencing himself but spending time with him and learning how to interact with him has really helped me learn how to how a great amount of patience and not to take simple things such as being able to express of I feel and my wants or needs for granted.

The most important part about being a nanny...

My favorite nanny moment would be doing a volcano experiment with the children I use to watch and seeing their excitement as we were doing everything and their faces when it erupted.
