More About Me
Relevant experience where I also cared for children were...
I served as a Toddler Teacher at a daycare from FEB 2021-NOV 2021. The responsibilities of an Afternoon Toddler Teacher were preparing and organizing mealtimes for the children, monitoring and supervising the safety of the children, organizing activities and implementing a curriculum that allows the children to learn and comprehend the lesson at hand. Creating weekly DOL’s and lesson plans for the classroom. Giving good feedback, motivating the children, and working effectively to solve conflict and improve communication throughout the classroom. I am also the coordinator for an after school care program at a Catholic school here in Mobile, AL.
Activities I enjoy doing with children...
Art was and has always been the best idea when it's a rainy day or the children need a better understanding of the lesson at hand. Children's involvement in arts-infused activities will develop their cognitive, creative, social and emotional skills, playing a large part in their optimal development.
The most important part about being a nanny...
The most important part about being a nanny is the impact and the impression you leave on the children. All the children I come into contact with, I want them to be able to look up to me as a role model, an individual they can trust, someone they can come to when they're having difficulties. I have a love for children like no other and want them to know I am there for them in any way possible.
My experience with special needs children...
I have worked with multiple children that have Autism, Bipolar Disorder, Schizophrenia. I have learned that the main idea is to treat them no different than any other child, but to love on them unconditionally. Hold them to the same standards as everyone else, but always explain what you expect of them and give good reinforcement and motivation when they have good behavior. It is very important to have patience and a strong personality. You have to be mentally strong and confident.
The most important part about being a nanny...
The most memorable moment I have is, I recently just began my second semester of college in August of 2021. I recently had to leave the daycare I was teaching at so I could focus on my education. One day, I decided to visit the daycare just to check in and see how the children were doing and I was quite nervous, because I had a feeling none of the children would remember me due to the fact that I had only been there for 8 months. As soon as I walked through those doors, I was attacked with so many hugs and so much love from the children , it warmed my heart. It made me realize I truly do leave an impact on these children and I want to continue that achievement.
