My experience with special needs children...
I have worked with children who have autism and I am very patient when it come to respecting the boundaries and needs. I always like to follow a schedule or even create a schedule to help the child become comfortable with me being around. I have also helped with introducing them to new foods or helping them with basic everyday skills and tasks (such as tying shoes, cleaning up, using the potty, zipping up or buttoning a jacket)
The most important part about being a nanny...
My favorite moment as a nanny was caring for a partially verbal child and teaching her basic sign language (more, eat, drink, “all done”) to communicate better with the people around her
