More About Me
Relevant experience where I also cared for children were...
My relevant experience includes working part-time for two years as an after-school tutor for a 6 year old on the spectrum, caring for my cousin from infancy through age 10, and regularly caring for my aunt’s children. I’ve helped with homework, meals, diapers, playtime, cleaning, and daily routines.
Activities I enjoy doing with children...
I love doing arts and crafts, reading, dancing, playing games, cooking together, going outside, helping with homework, and finding fun activities based on what the child enjoys. I’m always down to get creative and make everyday moments fun.
The most important part about being a nanny...
I don’t think being a good nanny is just about keeping a child fed, clean, and entertained. It’s about becoming someone they actually look forward to seeing. The most important part about being a nanny, to me, is learning the child. I want to know what makes them laugh, what they’re interested in, what frustrates them, and how they like to spend their time. I think the best childcare comes from being genuinely present, not just watching a child, but actually getting to know them and being someone they enjoy having around.
My experience with special needs children...
I have two years of experience working with a 6 year old on the autism spectrum as an after-school tutor. I helped with reading and math also learning his character, communication style, and what worked best for him. This taught me to be patient, understanding, flexible, and attentive to children's individual needs.
The most important part about being a nanny...
One of my favorite moments was watching my cousin get excited about helping me cook for the first time. She was so proud of herself for being able to help, even with something as simple as stirring and adding ingredients. Moments like that remind me how quickly kids learn and how special it is to be part of those little milestones.
